WHAT ARE THE different methods OF FERTILITY AWARENESS?

Billings Ovulation Method

The Billings Ovulation Method empowers women, through knowledge of their patterns of fertility and infertility and the time of ovulation, to achieve or postpone pregnancy and to monitor their reproductive health.

Billings is a mucus-only method; this means a woman charts her cycle by observing daily changes in her cervical mucus and records this information in Billings’ app, paper chart, or online portal.

Marquette Method

The Marquette Method uses a fertility monitor device combined with an algorithm to help women interpret biological signs of fertility. These fertility signs are seen in biomarkers like reproductive hormones found in urine, changes in cervical mucus, and fluctuations in basal body temperatures. Marquette teaches women how to track and interpret these biomarkers to identify their fertile window and treat health issues.

Because Marquette relies on a fertility monitor device to interpret biomarkers, it is often favored by women postpartum as interpreting the results can be clearer than observing biomarkers which can be impacted by changing hormones during and after pregnancy.

Creighton Model FertilityCare System

Creighton and the women’s health science of NaProTECHNOLOGY allows a woman to know her cycles and use this information for the maintenance of her health. Creighton relies upon the standardized observation and charting of biological markers that are essential to a woman’s health and fertility. These biomarkers tell a woman when she is naturally fertile and infertile and help identify abnormalities in a woman’s health.

Creighton is a mucus-only method; this means a woman charts her cycle by observing daily changes in her cervical mucus and records this information in a standardized method. This makes Creighton a simple yet highly effective method of fertility awareness.

Serena - The Symptothermal Method

The Symptothermal Method (STM) is an effective, co-operative, scientifically-based and inexpensive method of fertility awareness.

Using the Symptothermal method, a woman observes her cervical mucus, basal body temperature, and cervical position to chart her cycle. Incorporating multiple signs of fertility makes the Symptothermal method one of the most trustworthy fertility awareness methods.
